Question Firewall software

I am soon to be upgrading to aol broadband and will need a decent firewall.

The firewall which i have heard is recommended the most is Zone Alarm, with Nortons following close behind.

When upgrading to aol broadband, aol provides Mcafee Firewall free.

What would you recommend?

Stay with the default firewall offered by aol ( Mcafee ), or use another firewall like Zone Alarm or Nortons?

mcafee and norten use the same symantec engine so theres no difference but cost between the to.

Zonealarm is very effective but it is very resource intensive. It also has a habit of loading a new event for each thing it scans so can make your registry a bit on the untidy side.

I was thinking of getting the free version of zonealarm. Perhaps i should just go with mcafee since they use the same symantec engine ?
