Php5 & Php4

Innohosting.com offers PHP5 & PHP4 on their shared hosting, I wonder how they differ from each other. Why does the company provide both versions?
Which one do you use?

This company is not the only one which provides both older and newer version. marblehost.com also offers both.

Some people got accustomed to the fourth version and they prefer using it. In fact this is not very often offered by the hosts, and I think such companies should be known as there is a tendency of reducing the use of older php version.

Depends on your needs and skills. If you are not familiar with newer version - choose the older, and vice versa.

The same is offered by marblehost.com. This company offers free domain name registration in addidition...

PHP 4 and PHP 5 that Innohosting.com provides can be good for different applications. You know some of them are compatible only with PHP4 and the other with PHP 5.

marblehost.com also supports two latest versions. I think hosts do this to attract more clients, as many people are still addicted to the fourth version.

If I were in your situation, I would deal with simplehelix.com because this company is able to provide you with the fastest PHP web hosting. It offers money back-guarantee, so you can try their services and see how it works.

I believe if innohosting.com offers PHP 4 and PHP 5, it has been done for their customers' conveniences. Both versions are necessary for running web sites smoothly.

such companies as marblehost.com and others offering two versions of PHP do this with the only purpose - to attract more clients, as many people prefer older versions.

The thing is that if I were in your shoes, I would better deal with marblehost.com. You can specify which version of PHP (4 or 5) you want to use, making it even easier for you to run the scripts of your choice from your site. Also you will get free domain name for life.

It's better to use PHP5 on the servers because 4 was discontinued and contains security vulnerabilities. There is a compatibility flag that can be enabled but PHP 5 is the way forward if you write object orientated code.
Innohosting.com offer both version but PHP 5 is more preferable.
