is that wise?

Is that a good idea to use service from the company if I want to get a domain name for free? Have seen nice offers from marblehost.com and their package plan is much cheaper than a traditional domain registration service.

I would not personally recommend this as it is very important that no conditions are attached to any deals offering free domain names. You would need to spend time looking through the small print of the terms.

Domain names are like the keys to your house - only the owner of the house should have the keys.
For example - would you legally own the domain name yourself or would it be owned by the company offering you free use of it?
If you decided to stop using their services would you still have ownership or use of your domain name?

There is a lot to potentially loose and with domain names being very cheap - it is always best to purchase this yourself.

In such cases I only trust accredited registrars. But sometimes I use services of ahosting.biz as I know from where they resell and that my domain will remain mine if I reg it with this company.

Howbeit, I prefer EuroDNS.com more. This is large and stable registrar. but for single domain names godaddy or, as I already said, its resellers.

As I understand marblehost.com offers this free domain name as a bonus for using services from them.
Think it's a good and pleasant addition to the service.

If you want to deal with a company which offers such free bonus, I am definitely sure that it will be more secure to deal with accredited company in order to rely on it. I know that sibername.com is ICAN, CIRA and EURID-accredited registrar which offers free domain name if you buy any hosting plan. It will be far more reasonable for you.

If I were you I would buy hosting and register domain names separately. Don't put the balls in one basket. I suggest you to register domain names with godaddy.com as it is trustworthy and ICANN-accredited registrar and buy hosting from glowhost.com as it is reputable and also flexible enough to satisfy all your specific needs. These companies know how to do their job qualified.

Marblehost is reliable enough to use shared hosting and domain registration from them.
Plans contain many features which are on-demanded by the web masters and support works fine.
Wish you luck with them.
