Yes, pretty soon we'll be completely out of IP4. Ip6 has been already incoorporated into Vista to make things easier.
Today still you may get a dedicated IP from a host if you plan to install SSL cert on your site, I guess all ecommerce hosting providers should provide dedicated IPs, at least it is included into ecommerce hosting plans of the companies like utropicmedia.net

IPv6 is supposed to be the answer to the IPv4 problem. The bad thing is that many companies are taking a "wait and see" stance on this issue so I think the changeover will not go as smooth as it should.
