dot5hosting is a scam

its been 48 hours, no welcome email. 3 chats with operators, each saying they're sending info to my gmail account. zip, nada, nothing. Now they say 'oh, we can't send the welcome and login details until after the weekend' completely reversing what they said minutes before.

scam? I think so. I"m out $67 and a domain. not to mention waste of time and money since I'm not getting my work done.

Heh, I had problems sending emails to gmail a while ago for some reason the automated email wouldn't send, that was weird, but they might have the same problem, doubt it, but yeh, if you paid via paypal, contact paypal until they reply, if you paid via 2CO you might have a chance, contact them, if any other merchant like paymate, worldpay etc, just contact them and see...

File a complaint with consumer internet fraud. Atleast they are not on here calling you a liar like arielhost does.

We don't have to worry about it. Readers can judge fairly enough whose liar by read the complaint and what the hosting provider said.

If the provider was a liar then they will get additional complain from other users, but just make sure that you don't have to fake it by registering as other user. This won't work (if the forum have a clever mod of course ) .

Hellokitty, make sure you checked your bulk or disable your SPAM/Email filtering. Just to make sure that there's no reply from them that caught in it.
Then you can do what drewg told you or you can contact your credit card publisher.

Just check some web hosting comparison sites (like http://www.webhostingspotter.com ,or just google for some) and you will see that all top hosts are overselling. And stuff like free domain names or 50$ Adwords/Yahoo credits are nothing special these days

You can request a chargeback for your credit card payment from your bank, if they are not refunding your money properly.
