NoMonthlyFees.com - a hosting company with bad customer service
I just had to get my 2 cents in on NoMonthlyFees.com. I started hosting with them a few years ago. Overall, they provide a lot of disk space at a good price.. but twice now, they have lost my entire website. This last time, I opened a support ticket with them and they tell me 'Sorry about your loss. We restored from the last good backup we had'. Luckily, I don't use my site for e-commerce. This last time however, they lost almost a month's worth of my work! Can you believe the last good backup they had was almost a month old??!! A hosting company?!! Wouldn't the very nature of this business suggest that they should perform a nightly backup on their sites?
And then, it gets better.. to compensate for their mistake, they offered me a free account activation credit. I can't use it to pay my yearly fee, but I can use it to open another account with them, thereby increasing their revenue every year, from that point on! How very kind! I emailed support and asked them if I could use the credit to pay my yearly fee and was given a resounding 'Sorry.. but No!'.
So now I'm here. If I can discourage at least a couple people from hosting with them, then in some small way, the universe will have paid them back.
