Hopefully soon the directory will be finished. Currently we are getting around 30,000 uniques per month but i am hoping to double the traffic a few months after the launch with various advertising.

The most prominent advertising spot that will be available will be the hostcompanies.com sponsor slot ( located bottom of each page of the directory ). I am going to sell this slot to one company per month ( no rotations ).

Bearing that in mind... i am interested on your views about the pricing of this slot.

Since this advertising section is localted at the buttom, I would say around $300 a month. I would also suggest you make a smaller section at the top right hand corner and have rotation with smaller banners and it be $400 per a month.

Cele, its worth 30 times that easily.

I think it is worth around $1000 per month but i honestly think some companies would pay more than that. We have good search engine listings in the major search engines for web hosting, hosting, website hosting, web site hosting ( some first page listings ). It is very targeted traffic and a great chance for a large company to brand themselves some more. This slot would not rotate, only 1 company per month. Even if it is at the bottom of the page it will still be seen by loads of people looking for hosting.

They only need to convert 10 clients selling a hosting package at $99 dollars per year to break even. That pays for the slot and they get the extra branding for free plus extra clients that may come from word of mouth from the new clients.

usually 10 clients will become 20 clients if the service is good ( eventually ).

And if the service is good most website will host for atleast 1 year maybe 2 or 3 years. Plus the fact that just one client reselling their hosting may end up with hundreds of clients over the future years.

They should easily convert 10 new clients from that slot with my unique visits reaching around 30,000 for each month.

I would think around 20-30 new clients they would gain plus another 20 from other benefits of the ad.

When you consider it all its worth $1000 easily, in fact that is cheap.

True. I guess my advertising mind was else where. Ok 1000$ now that i think about it does seem more logical then $40.

i would say about 600 to 800 for the bottom one and if u did use the top 1000 to 1500

Personally i think its worth around $1200 to the right company. $1200 is like a drop in the ocean for some of the large companys out there.

Even $1200 to advertise to 30,000 potential customers sounds cheap.

I was wondering if you can offer why do you not put roll out banners instead of monthly banners so your banner is only on and off it rolls onto another banner this way i think you could make a lot more money offer it for $600 for the month and have 4 clients thats $2400

the alexa rank is not very good, perhaps $300 bucks a month is not bad.
