Advertising - some suggestions

It has come to our attention that a lot of hosts are now coming to the board and posting advertisements. While this is perfectly fine, may i please ask you all to keep the advertisements in this forum only. The exception to the rule is when another member is requesting hosting of a particular kind.

Some points

Two things happen when forums have advertisements all over the place.
1) The board becomes a spam wasteland... the user leaves the forum.
2) The user does not want to see advertisements everywhere... the user ignores the adverts and then leaves the forum.

Think about it...

The best form of advertising on a forum is to get involved in the topics being discussed and to leave your advertising in your signatures.

We have enough members now to have a good hosting and webmaster community - the forum is growing day by day. We have some very strong search engine listings but need to create a strong community to encourage members to sign up - otherwise why would they sign up? They would go elsewhere... to other forums with a larger user base - where there is less spam.

The more user friendly the board is... the more sign ups ... more sign ups means better results for your advertisements.

We will all benefit from this.
