Hosting Templates, Disliked...

Hello,

I really dislike ''templates'' used on Hosting websites. I'm talking about the sort of typical ones, which loads of hosts use, which you can tell are templates.

They are good (design-wise) but i think because there are SO many used and most of them use the sort of fake metallic look with the ready-made, un-original logo etc it looks tacky.

What are your views? I know people use templates when hosting because they cannot make websites very well or something, but it puts me off when i see hosts using templates (its so easy to tell).

I 100% agree with you on this. It gets really old to see the same designs and layout types over and over again with a different hosts name on the header (especially when it's even the same logo -- lol). I refer to them as "cookie cutter hosts".

I think most just grap one of the least expensive reseller accounts, then grab a template from one of the many template sites. An installation of WHM Autopilot and a couple hunded bucks later and they are in business.

Yes. I would rather see a site which didn't have all this fake metallic stuff and images from gettyimages.co.uk etc, thats just had a simple design which you could tell it was made from scratch. Sites made from scratch show you that people are determined.

I totally agree. I have run a hosting site before, and believe it or not, if you have such a template kinda site, you get more visitors and more clients to.. i compared designs u see... ah well i agree and i hope hosting companies will understand it...
