I think PR is important to measure the view and relevance to the web page and its a value to a web page given by google. But traffic is the most important thing to get for the site to get ahead.

SERP positioning is less related to PR of page. SERP positioning is deterimined by onpage stuff and off page activities, whereas PR is calculated based on domain age etc.
