switching to Firefox
I remember how much I enjoyed Netscape 4, and then switching over to IE 5.5 because 4.7 was too slow
It wasn't until the recent security-related issues regarding IE, whereupon I switched to Firebox, that I discovered how accustomed I had become to using IE features.
I use Adobe's SVG viewer in IE for launching and viewing all my SVG code (take a gander at my book) because the SVG code uses IE-specific features.
Anyway, I'm going to continue using IE for local access and Firefox for external access.
Incidentally, I'm working with XAML/Avalon code via Mobiform's browser, which is an excellent product (I'm not affiliated in any way with the company). If you have any interest in XAML, you might want to take a look at their browser....

Hi,
I do alot of graphic design work and finally took on the challenge to do myspace layouts for bands. I know the basics with coding html css.
I've been working on a layout and it looks good on firefox, but when I view it on internet explorer, everything is there just not position correctly.
i do prefer firefox ..

If you are impressed with FireFox, you should also consider Google Chrome which is getting better and better with each update.

I've messed with Chrome on my other systems. I think its a great browser. Do you think Chrome runs better then FF on a Mini? I've been impressed with Chrome's performance on my other systems.

I've got no scientific data to back it up, but Chrome just feels "snappier" to me than FireFox. It also manages system resources MUCH better by creating a separate process for each tab you open, and freeing those resources when you close the tab. In Firefox, it is easy to run up 100MB, 200MB, 300MB+ of memory usage if you keep the browser open for any period of time.
That being said, Chrome still struggles a bit with Flash content on the Mini, but I think the Mini in general struggles with Flash intensive web sites regardless of the browser.

I got to agree with that - Firefox really hogs the CPU if you have a lot of windows open while Chrome doesn't.
Chrome does have a lot of problems with certain code while Firefox and IE do not but i think give it time and Chrome will be a really good browser - Google always seems to get it right.

I agree that the mini struggles with flash video regardless of the browser. I see the same "choppyness" in FF that I saw in IE 7. Wondering if we ever get a bios option for Video Memory if that would resolve the flash video choppyness.

As people have mentioned above yes sure google Chrome is the best browser, when i first downloaded it, my internet was running at a lighting speed, i even checked my speed IP Details.com : Internet Speed test and it was normal too, hitherto i used firefox which chocked my browsing capabilities .
But the only one advantage with firefox is that it has more add ons, which makes things much easier

Is FF more popular among a certain demographic or is it just gaining popularity slowly?
When i was checking analytics i noticed under browsers that FF was still only 15 % compared to IE at 80 %. I expected FF to be a lot more popular by now, just wondering what others are experiencing.

IE especially IE 6 treats the box model in CSS differently than other recent browsers.
As a result a design can look very different in it!
Try and look this up and understand the differences well!
