Nice search engine - similar to Vivisimo. The problem with new search engines is that the market has already been corned by the big search engines like yahoo, altavista and google. It's very hard to break into that market now because the big search engines have been branded for far too long.

Try to get listed on some of the multiple search engine directory websites, that will help.

Good Luck

Glad you like it. You are right it is very hard for new search engine to compete with big search engines .

Now we have started adding documents on our search engine technology, so you can see how it works and information relating to its structure and how it process search query .

Sorry for late response .

Thats all very interesting to tech savy minded individuals, however your main target audience is the general public who would not understand a word of that.

Google is the most popular search engine because the general public liked it and now everyone knows about it. Google is simple.

Simplicity is your key here. If you are to be sucessful you need to make your advanced options very simple to understand to the general public.

Simple quick explinations as to why they should use your search engine. You should write this while imagining someone very stupid and lazy as the person who will be reading it - someone who doesn't even read properly - just scans the text quickly looking for simple one line explinationions like a mad man.
This is what the vast majority of the net do when looking at websites. Confuse them with too many tech savy terms and they will click away to the next site.

Once you have built up your public users... the webmasters and advertisers will follow.

Out of interest... how much does it cost to run a search engine like this?
I would have thought you would need a huge database to store all the data like oracle and several dedicated servers.

It can cost a fortune..

Depends on how big you want to go, but we are working towards 250 million pages indexed and i have 2 xeon servers with 2 terrabytes a piece, and going on 11 query servers distributing the index/query load plus i average about 15-25mpbs when spidering
