yes thats true.... you have to keep on updating your site content and optimize it... because when the spider notice that your site is always updated they will get you out on the sandbox.
To find out if your sites are Sandboxed is very easy. There are 2 visible signs:
1. Your sites do not appear in any SERPs for your target list of keywords;
2. Your SERPs were highly depressing even if you have lots of inbound links and perfect search engine optimization, then your sites have been Sandboxed.
