I recently purchased a new computer second hand. The computer was formatted before i recieved it and i have had to install a sound driver and dvd encoder to get things working.

After installing the dvd encoder it still will not play dvds.

This time i get the error message "Cannot render video, please check your graphics card driver and ensure it can support the latest version of direct x".

How can i find out what graphics card i have installed and what driver i need to download for it?

Chances are that i do not have any driver installed for the graphics card.

I appreciate any help on this, thanks.

I have now discovered i have several drivers not installed that may relate to this and other problems. I have also found a program that can identify hardware but its a bit complicated.

Below are the devices without a driver on my computer ( screen shot from device manager, marked with yellow question marks ).

And below is the information that the device indentify program found for each device ( screen shots from the device identify program ).

Hopefully someone can now tell me where to go to get the correct drivers for
SM bus controller
Universal serial bus controller
Video controller

I do appreciate any help
