Copy Outlook emails to new computer

I recently purchased a new computer and need to get all my outlook emails from my old computer to my new computer.

I am using outlook 2000.

Does anyone know where the file that contains the email is located so i may copy it over to my new computer?

My friend had to do this once...i belive there is something in outlook that lets you make a big file and then trasfer it over to your newcomputer on a floppy, zip, etc.

In express i believe you go to "Tools>Accounts>Export"

hope this helps

Yes i have worked this out now and have moved the emails over to the new computer. I am trying to work out a way to export my email settings over because i forgot some of the passwords i set up when creating the emails.

If not i will have to look through my records to find the emails.

Thanks for the help.

The best way to do this is to simply copy the .pst file from the old PC to the new PC.

C:\Documents and Settings\*user*\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

In order to view this file, you must enable to view hidden files and folders. Copying this file will completely copy everything.
