AOL 9 / Windows xp

I just recently changed computers and i now have running windows xp with aol 9.

Its really frustrating, but everytime i receive an email on aol 9 i get a pop up message showing the email.

I am not sure if this is an aol thing or windows xp, but its driving me insane.

With the amount of spam mail i get... every two minutes a message appears showing the latest email.

Does anyone know how to turn this stupid feature off?

I have tryed to find it myself in the options but i used to use aol 5 and i am not familiar with aol 9.

I can't believe anyone would want this option ever turned on when taking into account all the spam mail going round.

I have fixed the problem.

Apparently they were not emails but messenger spam. Aol provided a fix for this but it was my pc that had to be patched to stop it.

Aol had a computer check program with did it for me.

Thank God... if i had to endure one more offer of Banned-Keyword i think i would go insane.
