Baffling Audio Problems, Can you solve them-or is it futile?

I have a similar problem that has been posted in
the thread above.

I cannot hear any sound. I have an AMD with AC97 sound card built on my Gigabit mother board.

I re-intalled the drivers that came with my CD
with no luck.

I also downloaded the drivers from here.

I normally can figure out this stuff, but no success
so far.

The thread below me has been of somewhat help. I've followed
the directions but to no avail. XP w/SP2

Anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate it.
