No Audio Device

I have an old PC on which windows xp in spanish was installed I removed this and installed Xp in English. Now the sound doesn't work. Under "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" it says No Audio Device. The motherboard name is Asus A7V8X-X. Please can someone help me!

you may want to check out the Asus website for other drivers in the future.
but the server hosting the English version seems to be busy all the time.
I got you the driver from the Taiwanese site

the download page, you probably won't understand a word there, but just for your ref.

translation of description:
SoundMAX, a combined sounds driver 5.12.01.5.12.01.3663 WHQL, for OS Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP.

Angry no audio device

I have no audio device and would like to know how the download anew one or do something els about it. and would like to know is there some place in windows that i can find out the complete spec and if a sound card is installed.. without taking the computer cover off?

I'm having the same problem.I have reinstalled and still get the same responce.What's weird is that it works if I change users.How do I find out whats going on.There must be something turned off somewhere
