Unhappy can someone please help!?!! no audio!

I recently re-formatted my computer and now I have no sound!!!

I know I have a driver/sound card…. don’t know what u call it… installed because I used to have sound. When I go to sounds and audio in the control panel it tells me I have “No Audio Device”.

I’m using the windows xp home edition… and it’s an Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4CPU 1.80GHz… and I have no idea how to find out what device I have on the computer.

When I go to the hardware bit it in sound and audio I have the following… I have no idea what any of them mean…. But they are all working.

HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE –8520B
SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616F
MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device
Standard Game Port
Game port for Thrustmaster ACM (first port)
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Media Control Devices
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Video Codecs

I think that’s all the info I can tell you about my computer…
Can someone please tell me what I can do to get my sound back?
Thanks!!~

Sharon: how did you get your sound back? I also reformatted my hard drive and put windows xp pro back on...then I had no sound. I have a ECS 661FX-M motherboard....any help would be great...I have gone to the Realtek web site and downloaded the drivers but it still doesn't work.
