Idea: How about trimming down the number of forums untill lots of people are here?

I say get rid of the webdesign forums, or compact them down into one at most

I already did compact them down. There were many more forums at first.
Currently i am too busy working on testing the backend of the directory. The backend is almost ready now so its just a matter of debugging it before it goes live.
There are about 400 companies waiting to go on it, so hopefully many of them will come to the forums.

I am planning on creating some rewards for posting in the forums when all that is finished and getting an advisor to answer questions quickly.

I got good search engine listings ... so it has to pick up at some point. I have only had good search listings for about a month so soon with the directory being finished and the new competitions and advisor, things should be fine.

I really want a community like sitepoint or webhostingtalk but its hard to get that overnight.

There are plenty of guests in the forums, just hard to get them to join. The internet community is lazy, so although it only takes a minute to sign up - many don't.

Besides the extra forums bring in more traffic from search listings.
