ICANN-acredited or not?

If the company isn't ICANN-accredited, does it have a right to provide this service?

I don't think that ICANN accreditation influences the domain name itself.
Let's take Ahosting.biz, they don't have ICANN accreditation but their service is fast and reliable and price policy is customer friendly.

I don't see the bad side if the company is not ICANN-accredited. If it is stable and reputable company, you can rely on it and register domain.

Besides Ahosting.biz provide their domain registration services cheaply, they offer .info for only $1.99 and .com for $6.95.

I am opposite of you. To my mind, it is better to deal with ICANN-accredited registrar, because you can loose your unique domain name.

The use of non accredited company is technicaklly impossible - when you register a domain name - your information goes to icann and your whois tells which registrar did you use. This means that if company which is not accredited reselles from godaddy - in your DN whois will be stated godaddy as a registrar, and not "something.com." which took your money.

Well, I got to know that Sibername.com is really reputable registrar that offers cheap domain registration. It is CIRA, ICANN and EURID accredited, so you should worry if you register domains with this company. It has also some discounts.

Being not only ICANN, but also EURID and CIRA-accredited, sibername.com makes a great base for getting domains from.

ICANN accredited registrars can administer domains names. Others who are not ICANN accredited, but still offer a domain registration just use the API of any registrar. That's it.

I believe that it will be secure and safe to choose accredited company than non-accredited one. Your domains can disappear.
