Question PHP.. how did it all start?

How did php start off in the very beginning?

Supposedly in 1994, it was a perl hack by Lerdorf, over 3 years it grew, and then 2 other people created a parser for it, and it became php3. Beautiful isn't it? But if you want to know alot more information, You can easily read it for yourself.

I thought i had read somewhere that it came from perl. Once i get this website finished i am going to re-study php. I did start learning php and found the basics pretty straight forward, but i got sucked into marketing this website and never completed my learning. Oh well... i think it's worth it, finally my site is starting to build up.
