Competition - free advertising prize
New Competition
Competition Prize The winner of the competition will get a free web hosting advertisment - instead of public service ads showing when there are no google ads.. the winner can show their own banner ( 468 x 60 ) and one skyscraper (120 x 600 ) . The banners will display instead of google public service ads on the whole website - not just the forums - for 30 days.
Competition timeline
The competition will start Monday 24May and will run for 14 days.
Competition Rules
There are two ways to win this competition.
1) Whoever posts the most constructive thread during the competition timeline if knowone has completed the following.
2) Whoever can answer 20 server side / client side scripting questions ( asp, php, javascript, perl, ect ).
You must also post two server side / client side questions to win this way. You cannot answer your own questions.
You may not sign up with two different screen names to answer your own questions.
If knowbody has NOT completed task 2 after 14 days then the user who posted the most constructive thread will become the winner.
The competition can be stopped at any time, the management reserve the right to stop or change the rules without notice.
Winners of previous competitions cannot enter.
The winner must not display any banners linking to any adult related websites.
How many public service ads are usually displayed?
I have no idea. Usually i get around 30,000 unique visits per month, mostly consisting of users looking for web design, web hosting or webmaser related information.

There has been a lack of interest in this competition.
I think that there is two reasons for this,
1) You have not realised the value of the prize ( psa's ) are shown much more than you obviously think
2) Too many php posts needed to win
In response i have now changed the rules.
At the end of the competition timeline...
The first person who has posted 1 server side or client side scripting question and answered 7 client or server side questions will win.
If knowone has done this then the most contructive thread posted on the board during the competition timeline will win.
If the lack of interest continues... i will pull the competition in a few days.

Competition pulled.
I have pulled this competition due to a lack of interest. I will consider all the elements involved in this for future competitions.
In the past the competitions have been based on the number of posts by a user but this was not a sucssess because it filled the forum up with meaningless posts.
For the time being i won't be running any competitions.
The forums are growing more rapidly anyhow... so hopefully soon we will have a more actiive community.
Currently i am working on serveral aspects of the website, when finished i will be adding some more experts to the forum.
Anyone interested should pm me with their areas of knowledge.
