Thumbs up Forum members grow to 5000

Well the first big milestone has been achieved - hostcompanies.com now has 5000 forum members!

This is the first big step towards our goals as being one of the strongest communities for web hosting online.

The next big target will be 10,000 members.

OK we now reached this point and are near to 15,000 members.

15,000 members is the next target.

Thanks to everyone who has joined the forums and help start build this community of web hosting professionals.

It is good news and is growing at the rate of around 30-50 new members each day - we are on track for 10,000 members in the next few months.

There are two main problems however that is very frustrating.
1) Spammers are a constant problem and are lowering the tone of the community - despite my constant efforts to delete their posts each day
2) Far too many new members are not posting - this is something i can't understand. Why register as a member and never post?

Hopefully in time as the community gets bigger and more active these elements will fall away.

I haven't been posted for long time since registration because of having a great rest without any computers and internet...

The other problems as spam are common for every forum... No one can stop this. Spam is like incurable disease of every forum.

Updated post as we now have near to 15,000 members.

This is the next big target.

I will post a new announcement once we reach this target.

Next target after 15,000 will be 25,000 members and then 50,000 members.

We are no longer tiny but we are still relatively small but hosting is very niche.

Help us grow by by linking to our forums and telling your colleagues to join up.
The important thing is quality members from the hosting community more than quantity.

95% of the spam problems have also been handled now but we still need more quality moderators to join us.

Thanks to everyone who has been a part of hostcompanies.com over the last few years.

I believe the forums have grown enough now for users to recommend others in the industry.

An upcoming directory relaunch is also on the horizon.
