No Audio Device?

I just got a new computer on the cheap running a intel celeron.

I can't get the sound to work on it. I went to control panel / sounds and audio devices... i cannot adjust any of the sound volumes and it says "No Audio Device".

My new computer was second hand and was formatted before i recieved it, no instructions with it. I was thinking that the driver might not be installed for the sound?

I am using windows xp pro, how can i find out what audio device i have on the computer and if the driver is installed?

If it isnt a driver problem, then does this mean i have no audio device?
I am sure i do...

When i went to hardware devices under sound and audio i got the following,
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Media Control Devices
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Video Codecs

Device status for all of them under properties says that the device is working properly.

Could this be just a driver problem?
Does anyone know how to find the correct driver i might need to install?
