Does flexihostings.net offer VPS or dedicated? I'd go with someone I've known for some time.
As for Backup MX services you can have a look at
www.integricity.com.
Also if affordable dedicated is what you need consider
www.ahosting.biz services, I see it advertized and recommended a lot.
