hi guys,
I have the same problem as Administrator but I have a Gigabyte P4 Titan 667 (GA-8ST667) motherboard.
I have tried Compaq's advice but to no avail, the ALC650 is just not being detected by Windows XP (SP2)!
I have checked the Device settings and it is indicating that the Realtek AC'97 is working properly. Also checked the BIOS and AC'97 is enabled.
It was working fine with the old driver but now I'm not sure what it was! I have lost the installation CD.
It just stopped working when I was trying to correct a recording problem. I went to update the driver through windows. That didn't work so I rolled back the old one but still no sound!
Is there anything else I can do before buying a stand-alone sound card? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
