try this

Bindings for Local Area Connection:

checkbox -picture- File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
checkbox -picture- Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
checkbox -picture- Client for Microsoft Networks
checkbox -picture- Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
That should have been there, just above Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). I don't think your problem is the same as the one I had... Or the same problem in a different disguise :-P

Did you try looking for filtering?
- Right click your Local Area Connection in Network Connections
- Choose Properties
- Choose Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
- Click Properties
- Choose the General Tab and click Advanced
- Choose the Options Tab
- Click TCP/IP Filtering and then Properties
- Uncheck Enable TCP/IP filtering (or check all 'permit all' options)

Hope that helps...
